Javier Zarracina is the Senior Graphics Director at USA Today, leading the Graphics Department in creating infographics, interactives, and motion graphics for the USA Today Network. He collaborates with Gannett newsrooms to prioritize visual storytelling. Previously, he was the Graphics Director at Vox.com, the Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, and El Correo in Spain
Marco Hernandez

Marco is a Graphics Editor for The New York Times. He has worked in newsrooms for over 20 years, including Reuters in Singapore; La Nación in Costa Rica and The South China Morning Post in Hong Kong. Marco has received hundreds of international awards, including “World’s Best Designer” from the Society for News Design in 2021. He won the 2023 and 2024 Pulitzer Prize for covering the war in Ukraine and Gaza. In 2023, Ball State University awarded Marco the Majeri Award for innovation and leadership in journalism in Indiana, USA. Marco makes tutorials in his spare time, and enjoys doing illustrations and maps for fun which he publishes on multiple blogs on weekends. As a former Information Design lecturer, Marco finds it rewarding to help students and create opportunities for professional growth.
Svenja Kruse

Svenja Kruse is an award-winning German Creative Director specialized in Cover Design. For more than 20 years she has been designing covers for well-known magazines such as Der Spiegel, Stern, GEO, Capital and WirtschaftsWoche. She currently works as Cover Designer for the German news weekly FOCUS Magazine.
Mathew Kurian

Mathew Kurian has had a diverse career spanning 22 years, holding roles such as Creative Director at MAT and Vox Populi, Chief Designer at Khaleej Times, and Designer and Illustrator at The National. He has also worked as a Commercial Artist at Malayala Manorama, a Reproduction Painter at OK-eM, and a Textile Designer at Kemp-Fort.
His work has earned him 56 SND Awards, including Silver Awards. In 2009, he was part of the SND33 judging panel at Syracuse University, New York. He was also recognized in the SND Special Report on Design with the President’s Award for Excellence in Volunteer Service for his impactful illustrations on a challenging subject.
Currently, Mathew works in India as a Yogic Visual Artist, focusing on the ancient Indian sciences of Yoga and Naturopathy.
