Rio Olympics news design competition was conducted as a part of the 10th-anniversary celebration of India’s first and only international newspaper design site www.newspaperdesign.in in association with SOCIETY FOR NEWS DESIGN REGION 19 (SND 19)
Entries came in from all over the globe, well beyond the borders of Region 19, which was awesome to see and underscores SND’s international reach. Papers in the Middle East, Central and South America and the United States joined in.
This competition was coordinated by SND Region 19 director T.K. Sajeev Kumar and judged by Stephen Komives(Executive Director of the Society for News Design), Chris Courtney (lead mentor at Bloc in Chicago) Satoshi Toyoshima (Assistant Graphics Editor at The Sankei Shimbun in Toyko). We had three categories: Front Page, Sports Front, and Information Graphics.
